BRC Training

BRC IoP AWARENESS AND INTERPRATATION TRAINING

COURSE BACKGROUND

More and more food and other manufacturers are requiring third party certification as the basis for a closer and longer-term partnership with their packaging suppliers.

This has occurred for two main reasons:

  • Retailers are increasingly requiring their suppliers to show that there is not a “weak link” in the supply chain.
  • Packaging companies are being required to demonstrate their competence to their customers.

The Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials has been updated to Issue 3 in January 2008 by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) in association with the Institute of Packaging (IoP).

The new standard Issue 3 has been extended to encompass packaging for food and non food use.

The BRC responds to industry needs by designing standards to be used as pillars to help retailers and brand owners with their “due diligence” defence.

OBJECTIVES

The aim of this course is to allow delegates to gain an in-depth understanding of the practical implementation of the standards, and learn how to carry out their responsibilities. The course will be based on the BRC IoP Standard in all elements of its requirements with examples of how the standard may be applied. It also includes the planning, conducting, implementing and auditing stages of the implementation process with reference to BRC IoP Standard. The course provides the balance between theory and samples that develop the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct the implementation of the BRC IoP Standard.
