Course Background |
Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series 18001 (OHSAS 18001) was developed in response to demand for a single, universally applicable and externally verifiable system for the management of health and safety in the workplace. Published in April 1999 by the British Standards Institute, it is not a formal standard as such, but an auditable protocol, against which an organisation's safety management system can be assessed by a third party. |
| Participants | This two days workshop is designed for delegates who are, or will be responsible for developing OH&S management systems, applying policy control either from the basis of an existing Quality / Environmental Management System or as a completely new programme. It will ensure that delegates understand their responsibility and give them the necessary skills to introduce an effective OH&S management system in their workplace. |
| Work Design | The workshop will consist of information sharing with overheads & course notes, practical assignments and a case study for general discussion. The course comprises four workshops. |
