  • Required to audit their own organisation's system or their suppliers.
Work Design More than 50% group work. A combination of group and individual work with the practical application of knowledge gained during the workshop.

Objectives

The objective is to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills required to perform audits of quality management systems against ISO 9001:2000 in accordance with ISO 19011. The course fulfils the training requirements for certification as an IRCA and/or IATCA quality management systems auditor.

Upon completion of this Course, delegates will be able to:

  • describe the purpose of a quality management system and explain the eight principles of quality management.
  • explain the purpose, content and interrelationship of ISO 9000 family and ISO 19011.
  • interpret requirements of ISO 9001 within the context of an audit.
  • describe the roles and responsibilities of auditors and lead auditors.
  • plan and conduct an audit in accordance with ISO 19011, demonstrating ability to plan and prepare effectively.
  • gather objective evidence, through effective interviewing observation, sampling and note taking.
  • analyse and interpret information in order to determine conformance with requirements.
  • report the audit, including writing valid, factual and value-adding nonconformity reports.
  • undertake audit follow-up activities, including evaluating the effectiveness of corrective action.

Prework Pre-course reading

Pre-
requisites
Delegates are expected to have, prior to commencement of the course, a comprehensive understanding of the content, application and implementation of the ISO 9000 series of Standards.

Assessment Delegates will be graded on the basis of a continuous assessment and a written examination.

Award Delegates who pass both the examination and continuous assessment will be issued with a “Certificate of Successful Completion” that satisfies the formal training requirements for IRCA/IATCA auditor/lead auditor.

Duration 45 training hours spread over five consecutive days. Please note that the course is intensive. You may be required to complete homework.
