The sustained economic growth of Mauritius over the last three decades has led to increased competition and the necessity for organisations to achieve operational excellence to satisfy increasingly demanding customers. In September, SGS invited Processfix to run a series of Masterclasses for proactive business leaders across the country. The aim was to demonstrate how improving processes can help them achieve their objectives and ambitions. The event, which took place in Port Louis, attracted a number of local business leaders from the various sectors of the Mauritian economy including agriculture, resort hotels, textile, financial services and business process outsourcing firms. When questioned about the presence of his entire management team, Félix Maurel, Managing Director of La Prudence Mauricienne Assurances Ltée said: "I wanted to ensure that our team speaks a practical and common language when it comes to process improvement. We certified ISO 9001:2000 back in 2004.

Although ISO helped our business greatly, we felt the need to do more to improve our process efficiencies internally, particularly those which directly affect our customers' experience with La Prudence."

First hand experience
Attendees participated in four rounds of the highly effective fixit business simulation. The role play and the simulated business process allowed each participant to gain a first hand experience on the ways in which Processfix's pragmatic engagement of whole teams, leads to dramatic process improvements. These improvements include end-to-end service and new policy applications, client account management, invoicing and collections, dealing with customers inquiries. This successful course with Processfix has been another opportunity given by SGS for participating organisations to unleash their full potential.
