SGS has been present in Mauritius for more than 15 years. At its start SGS was providing services essentially to the export processing zone and the textile industry. It has always kept abreast of new trends and standards at the international level and has been expanding its services over the years to respond to the local needs.

It has contributed to the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems for many local firms and organizations. It has the only modern and competent laboratories accredited ISO 17025 in the Indian Ocean and provide, since 2004, facilities for testing petroleum products.
Integrity, transparency and ethical behavior have always been the core values of SGS and these have contributed to its success and reputation in Mauritius.
